Through this I've discovered stuff that I didn't realise that I had, and it also means that when I'm wanting to play background music I can select random play and end up with a nice variety of tracks as a soundtrack to a relaxing evening with my wife and (sometimes) friends.Cumberland, RI USA (November 20, 2017) - Akai Professional, a leading manufacturer of music equipment for performers and producers, today announced the official release of MPC 2.0. What I can say is that the Vault 2 is definitely worth owning.Ī handy feature is the ability to play tracks randomly. The downloadable BlueOS app can also be installed on a Windows PC, by the way.Īlso, one can see the Vault 2 on the LAN and I can play tracks on the Vault 2 on my PC if I wish to. So the Vault 2 is slightly buggy and possibly also assumes that all metadata available through its chosen sources is correct. Right now I've not had the time to find out how to resolve the issues, but I suspect that I'll need an app of some kind to enable me to correct the metadata and folder structures. As a result, I can select Neil Diamond tracks for playing but the Vault 2 can't locate them in order to play them. Similarly, there's one artist (Neil Diamond) who's artist folder has become a sub-folder of another artist's folder (Nat King Cole). One issue that I've had with the Vault 2 is that some rips seem to fail in a weird way inasmuch as I'll rip a Motown CD but it'll end up listed as some obscure album by an obscure artist with all of the tracks incorrectly titled. Eventually, I'll buy a separate DAC and feed it from both the Saturn (as a transport) and the Vault 2. It's not quite as good sounding as my Rega Saturn CD player, but if I didn't have the Saturn then I wouldn't know that and I also wouldn't feel short changed. The Vault 2 has an inbuilt DAC plus analogue outputs through phono sockets, and it sounds great on my stereo. There is a CD slot, and many hundreds of CDs have been in and out of mine since I started ripping just after Christmas. It took me a while to get it onto the main network, but if your router is right there by the stereo then that's one problem solved. ![]() Thanks in advance for the help! I feel truly lost with all this. ![]() Also is it easy to transfer files, via USB to a portable hand held device? (Not my phone, been looking at A&K and other models)įinally, is there a similar product that might be better than the V2? The question is will the Vault 2 work well with my old Denon receiver and B&W speakers? Also, is it easy to copy files onto thumb drives? I figure the next car purchase will definitely not have a CD player so this will help. ![]() I’d like to rip my collection to quality sound files and in the process unload a ton of extraneous albums (we all have them whether we admit it or not) on eBay. Does anyone here have one and can share their experience? My research has led me to the Bluesound Vault 2 but sadly I can’t seem to find much into out there aside from a couple short YouTube videos. I haven’t had a PC for a few years and would prefer to not go that route. I’ve been collecting cd’s since the late 80’s and while I cherish my collection (approx 2500) I’m starting to realize that it might be time to look into some digital storage.
